Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-08

Draft. Items in [[double brackets]] still need to be filled in.

These terms are an agreement between you and [[Company legal name]] (“we”, “us”), which provides Browser Agent. By installing the extension, using Browser Agent Cloud or buying a plan, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

The service

Browser Agent is a Chrome extension with an AI agent that works on the web pages you’re viewing and can research the web. It runs in one of two ways:

  • Browser Agent Cloud, the default: your requests go through our servers to an AI model provider and use credits.
  • Your own API key: requests go directly from your browser to the provider you choose. The parts of these terms about Cloud, credits and payment don’t apply to this mode.

The extension’s code is open source under the MIT license. That license covers the code. These terms cover Browser Agent Cloud and paid plans.

Your installation and account

You can use the free plan without signing in. Your installation is identified by a device token stored in your browser, and its free credits belong to that installation.

Before you buy a plan, you must sign in with Google or GitHub. Paid plans belong to the account you signed in with, so you can use your plan on another computer by signing in there.

If you remove the extension and install it again in the same browser, we can usually recognize the browser and restore an installation that wasn’t signed in. A signed-in account isn’t restored automatically: sign in again to get your plan and credits back. If that doesn’t work, contact us at [[Contact email]] with your receipt.

Anyone who uses your browser can use your installation’s credits, so keep your device secure. On a shared computer, sign out in Settings when you’re done.

Credits and plans

Each task (one message you send, until the agent stops) uses a fixed number of credits set by the model and thinking depth you choose, plus more for reading longer pages. The side panel shows the estimate before you send. Current plans and prices are on our pricing page.

The free plan’s credits reset on the 1st of each month (UTC). Paid plans’ credits reset at the start of each billing period. Unused credits don’t carry over and have no cash value.

Models and credit costs can change over time. The side panel always shows a task’s estimate before you send it.

To prevent abuse, a single task has size limits and stops when it reaches them, and there are limits on how many new installations one network can register and how many of them get free credits.

Payment, renewal and cancellation

Paid plans are sold by Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle handles checkout, payment, taxes, invoices and refunds, and Paddle’s own terms for buyers apply to your purchase.

Prices are in US dollars. Taxes are calculated at checkout based on where you are.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Manage subscription on the upgrade page, which you open from Settings in the extension. After you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

Upgrading from Pro to Power takes effect right away, and you pay the prorated difference for the rest of the current period. To move to a lower plan, cancel and subscribe again after the current period ends.

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Acceptable use

  • Don’t use Browser Agent to break the law, to break the rules of websites you use it on, or to access accounts or data you’re not allowed to access.
  • Don’t try to get around credit limits, share or resell access to Browser Agent Cloud, or attack or overload our servers.
  • In Cloud mode, requests are processed by Anthropic. Don’t use the service in ways Anthropic’s usage policies prohibit.

You’re responsible for what you ask the agent to do and for the actions it takes for you, including anything you allow on a confirmation card.

What the agent can get wrong

Answers come from an AI model and can be wrong or incomplete. Check important information and its sources before you rely on it.

Before actions that look irreversible, such as paying, placing an order, deleting or submitting a form, the extension stops and asks you to click Allow. These are rules, not a guarantee: they can miss actions that don’t look irreversible, and a malicious page can try to mislead the model. Keep an eye on what it does on sensitive sites. You can stop a task at any time.

Other websites and services

Browser Agent works on websites run by others and uses services such as Google and Bing search and AI model providers. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or how they handle data.

Your content

You keep whatever rights you have in what you send and what you get back. We don’t claim ownership of it, and we only handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to the service and these terms

We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering Browser Agent Cloud: [[Notice and refunds if the service shuts down]].

When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. If you keep using the service after a change, the new terms apply.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the results of actions you asked for or allowed. Our total liability is limited to [[Liability cap]].

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

Ending use

You can stop using Browser Agent at any time by removing the extension and canceling any subscription. We may suspend or end Browser Agent Cloud access for installations or accounts that break these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by [[Governing law and courts]].
